Nettippattam is a typical symbol of Kerala tradition and handicraft. It is basically an ornamental wear that adorns the forehead of temple elephants of Kerala during festivals and processions. It is believed that Nettipattam was designed by Lord Brahma and, Iravath the white elephant of Lord Indra, was the first lucky elephant to wear it.
