A FEW WORDS FROM THE certificate of authenticity: The 1983 new zealand annual collectors' coin issue commemorates the 50th anniversary of the nation's own distinctive coinage. description of the dollar coin design:   the obverse bears the arnold machin effigy pf her majesty the queen, with the inscription "elizabeth ii new zealand 1983" around the periphery. the reverse design, by philip nathan, f.r.s.b.s., of england, depicts the "fiftieth anniversary of coinage" theme. new zealand's coat of arms, and the words "one dollar" occupy the centre of the design.  the inscription "1933 new zealand coinage 1983" extends around the top half of the coin whilst around the lower half a feature is made of the reverse designs of five pre-decimal and four decimal new zealand coins.
