It follows the ICSE, SSC and HSC curriculum. Pinewoods is known for the personal attention, excellent results and discipline. The institution ethos is one of a formal and disciplined approach to both academic and leisure activities. Similarly, knowledge, skill and moral attitudes are acquired through a curriculum decided by the institution: Adequate facilities are provided for sports. Suitable physical activities for boys and girls, seniors and juniors are organized. Boys have hockey, football, cricket, swimming, badminton, basketball, table tennis, roller skating, marathon and general athletics, as well as graded physical exercises and gymnastics. The Institution has a well equipped Science Laboratory and students are supervised by qualified and trained teachers. The Institution is also well equipped with Computer Lab. Children also study supplementary text which enables them to learn about topics related to their syllabus in an expansive manner. Extensive use is made of 'Project Work' to encourage the investigative approach. The Management believes in providing the scope for rapport between the teacher and the taught. Hence the number in each class is restricted to 20/25. The teacher student ratio is normally 1:15 Pinewoods provide vegetarian diet for its students. The school diet is drawn up by its experts, is full and nutritious, cooked in hygienic kitchen under the direction of a well qualified and experienced catering staff. Meals are supervised by Mistress or Master on duty. The Students & Staff Food Committee meets regularly to give suggestions. The institution has well equipped infirmaries separate for boys and girls. The Medical Officer, who attends everyday on fixed timings, maintains the health record of each child. Special interest is taken in the development and welfare of each child. The children are weighed regularly and the school has a clearly defined program of preventive medical inspections, dental inspection and eye-tests. The institution has a well furnished hostel to cater to the needs and comfort of the students. Dormitories are separate for Boys and Girls, Primary and Secondary. Each room is compact and well equipped with attached W.C., hot water shower, lockers, dresser and color television with cable connection. Some dormitories have the provision of Air Conditioning, fridge, etc. Pinewoods prides on being an institution where the quality of boarding provision is second to none. Matron / Warden attend to the immediate needs of pupils, as well as supervise / attend the domestic arrangements such as laundry, bathing, repairs, hairdressing / cutting, etc. We also believe that a vigorous boarding routine gives structure and discipline in preparing for adult life. However we are not insensitive to the emotional and personal difficulties of our pupil.
