REQUIRED TRUCK DRIVER IN ONTARIO (CANADA)... IN INDIA

Primary Functions: Operates delivery truck with specific load capacity. Loads, transports and unloads or assists in unloading materials and supplies between various company facilities and work sites. Accountable for the safe and efficient operation of transport vehicles. Responsibilities: Operate and drive straight truck, of a certain weight, to transport goods and materials to destinations Maintain radio or telephone contact with Dispatcher or supervisor to receive instructions or be dispatched to new locations. Follow a pre-determined schedule of pick-ups and deliveries Perform pre-trip inspection of vehicles, including tires, lights, brakes, emergency equipment, etc. Record inspection results daily in accordance with procedure and ensure inspection records remain in the vehicle at all times Maintain other types of inspection or safety logs in accordance with highway traffic acts or other jurisdictional regulations Obtain required paperwork, permits, licenses, etc. to transport products inter-jurisdictionally or across borders. Ensure paperwork remains in the vehicle at all times Obtain required labeling for transport vehicles and ensure labels are affixed in accordance with the Transportation of Dangerous Goods Act or other jurisdictional regulations Clean, inspect and service vehicles. Perform emergency roadside repairs as required. Ensure transport vehicles are scheduled for preventative maintenance on an established basis Record cargo information, distance travelled, fuel consumption and other information in driver logbook or on-board computer Notify supervisor of needed equipment, supplies, repairs or routine maintenance Operate equipment on vehicle to load, unload or dispense cargo or materials. Ensure vehicles are properly chalked prior to loading or unloading Obtain client signature or collect payment for goods delivered and delivery charges Comply with the organizations environmental, health & safety, recycling, sustainability efforts and quality assurance policies and standards Participate in company-sponsored training relating to material handling, safety and quality Maintain all transport vehicles in a neat, clean and orderly condition Perform any other duties as required Qualifications: Minimum high school graduation Minimum one to two years of experience as a truck driver Must have a valid driver s heavy weight license in good standing; and able produce a clean Driver s Abstract upon hire Have strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and organize work Have excellent customer service and communication skills, and the ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and internal BFG staff Certified forklift operating license preferred Ability to concentrate for long periods of time during all types of weather Ability to use atlases and other trip planning aids; Receive and relay information to central dispatcher Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Perform varied tasks requiring independent knowledge, its application to a variety of situations, as well as exercise of independent judgement in addition to procedures and instructions provided Be able to lift and carry up to Up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
