Tamil Language Teachers Requirements and Conditions: Qualification: BA plus MA in Tamil Language and Literature from the 5 designated universities. Tamil Studies not acceptable. 2 Degrees must be awarded with 2nd Honours (Division) from the 5 Universities. Fresh graduates, no teaching experiences needed. Five (5) designated universities: 1) University of Madras; 2) Bharathidasan University; 3) Annamalai University; 4) Madurai Kamaraj University; 5) Manonmaniam Sundaranar University(MSU). Skills: IT proficient (Word, Excel & PowerPoint) for lesson preparation, delivery, and admin work. English proficiency: on listening and understanding, able to be successful in NIE. Obtained 6.5 score(Academic) from IELTS before Dec after being selected. Health Declaration of pre - existing medical condition. Salary and Grade of Appointment: Grade: GEO 1 upon passing NIE exam Salary: SGD per month after passing NIE exam. No CPF. Contract gratuity will be given on completion of contract. Before coming to Singapore: Selected candidates will need to pass IELTS (Academic) 6.5 score before coming to Singapore. Failure will not go to Singapore. Interview Venue Arrangements in Chennai: Venue layout by on seating and holding area with partition for independent essay writing. Equipment: sound equipment and projector Interview includes the following: 1) Tamil Essay writing: 20 minutes. 2) Interview: in English for 30 minutes, including presentation of 5 minutes before interview. Presentation will be on teaching a topic regarding Tamil Language and Literature, before a panel of 7 pax 3) Written English essay: after interview, translating the Tamil essay. After Arrival in Singapore: 6-month school attachment with Temporary Employment Pass (TEP) from Jan to Jun . Stipend $ per month Upon confirmation proceed to NIE for one year, under Student Pass, with Stipend $ per month Upon passing NIE exam Salary of $ per month. Accomodation: provided by MOE, hostels in NIE, Poly, or HDB flats. Must pass MOM and MOE medical exam. Candidates must sign BOND: SGD for early termination depending on balance of unserved period.
