JOB DESCRIPTION: Edits articles, journals, technical reports and papers, and related documents involving highly specialized, scientific, and/or non-English language; prepares copy for final production. Edits and produces camera-ready copy of printed materials for publication including books, manuscripts, articles, and papers. Oversees production schedules to ensure completion by set deadlines. Performs research in order to accurately edit, prepare, and produce technical documentation; maintains appropriate databases and/or files. Formats and produces complex computer-generated forms, tables, and graphs; instructs others on formatting and design methods. Serves as a liaison between the unit and authors, printers, and/or publishers; as appropriate to the position, locates peer reviewers and mediates between peer reviewer and author. Produces technical and scientific illustrations for presentations and/or publication, as appropriate to the requirements of the position. May maintain databases and files including those used to track subscriptions and mailing lists. May type and format technical and non-technical documents such as grant proposals, manuscripts, articles, course descriptions, reports, and correspondence.
