However, candidates who have been admitted to a preparatory course in any of the IITs in 2015 can appear in JEE (Advanced) 2016. Number of Subjects in the Qualifying Examination - Candidates must have taken at least five subjects i.e. (1-Language, 2-Physics, 3-Mathematics, 4-Any one of the (subjects—Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Technical & Vocational Subjects), 5-Any other subject) in class 12th / qualifying examination in order to be eligible for writing JEE (Advanced) - 2016. . Exam Structure of JEE (Advanced) 2016 The JEE (Advanced) consists of two objective type papers i.e., Paper-1 & Paper-2. Each Paper consists of three parts – Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 3 separate sections i.e., Section-1, 2 & 3. Each paper contains total 60 questions consisting of 20 questions in each subject. The maximum marks are 264 comprising of 88 marks for each subject in Paper-1 and 240 marks comprising of 80 marks for each subject in Paper-2. Duration of each paper is 3 hours. In some Sections, incorrect answers will be awarded negative marks. She/he should darken the appropriate bubble under each digit of his/her Roll No. Candidates should apply adequate pressure to ensure that a proper impression is made on the second page of the ORS.
