Contrary to some internet rumors the XT60 design - although often copied - is patented by the original inventors the Changzhou Amass Electronics Co. Ltd. While not a consumer name Amass is a high quality power connector OEM making components for top tier manufacturers including Philips NEC and Amphenol.
