Vehicle location intimation

The project is designed to find out the exact location of any stolen vehicle and intimate the position to the concerned authority   through an SMS. This system includes a GPS modem which retrieves the location of a vehicle in terms of its longitude and latitude in the event of theft. This data is fed to the microcontroller which is interfaced with a GSM modem. Microcontroller retrieves the location details from the GPS and sends it to the concerned authority in the form of an SMS over GSM modem on periodical intervals so set by the user. An LCD display is interfaced to the microcontroller for crossing the data received before being sent over GSM Adopting this technology will be highly useful to people to keep tracking of their vehicles. This project can be further enhanced by making an arrangement to stop the vehicle ignition by the owner remotely by sending an SMS in theft situations. GPS based vehicle tracking systems or GPS based VTS are commonly used by fleet operators for fleet management functions. Vehicle tracking systems (VTS) are also popular in consumer vehicles as a theft prevention and retrieval device. Police can simply follow the signal emitted by the tracking system and locate the stolen vehicle. Brief Description of GPS Vehicle Tracker Real time Monitoring System - You will be able to track your vehicle real time basis upon installing this Tracker device in your vehicle. 1. Geofencing - User may draw a boundary at his desired location and able to get alert through SMS upon entering or exiting from this boundary Configurable via SMS - User can change the location data update rate, user mobile no., digital outputs etc. by sending corresponding SMS. Over Speed Alert - User may set speed limit(ex.: 80Km/hr.) from his web site control panel against each vehicle separately. A SMS alert will be generated if the vehicle runs over this speed limit(ie. 80Km/hr). Tampering Alert - A SMS alert will be generated if the main power cable is removed. Ignition On/Off alert through SMS - User may get a SMS alert each time whenever the ignition is turned On/Off. AC On/Off alert through SMS - If this feature is enabled, a SMS alert will be generated each time upon turning the Air Conditioner On/Off. Status Request - Know status of the vehicle like Speed, Latitude, Longitude, Network Location etc. by sending corresponding SMS to the tracker. 24x7 Visibility - User can monitor vehicles using PC, laptop or mobile phone. Notification Management - User can choose his preferred condition like vehicle speed, vehicle route or boundary through geofencing, Ignition & A/C On/Off for notification via SMS alerts. The aim of this project is to use wireless technology to intimate the owner of the vehicle about any unauthorized entry. This is done by sending an auto-generated SMS to the owner. An added advantage of this project is that the owner can send back the SMS which will disable the ignition of the vehicle. As the crime rate is going up, security system for vehicles is extremely essential. In this proposed system if someone tries to steal the car, the microcontroller gets an interrupt through a switch mechanism connected to the system and commands the GSM modem to send an SMS. The owner receives the SMS that his car is stolen. He can then send back an SMS to the GSM modem to ‘stop the engine’. The GSM modem interfaced to the microcontroller, receives the message, the output of which activates a mechanism that disables the ignition of the vehicle resulting in stopping the vehicle. The project uses a lamp to indicate the engine ON/OFF condition. Thus, owner of the vehicle from anywhere can switch off ignition of his car. This project can be further enhanced by integrating a GPS system, which will give exact position of the vehicle in terms of its latitude and longitude. Further this data can be sent to the owner via SMS who can enter this value on Google maps to get the exact location of the vehicle.
