Responsibilities • Detailed civil design of substation and distribution projects, ranging in voltage from 25kV to 500kV, which includes concrete foundation, oil containment, steel and timber structures, control building, etc. • Preparing documentation for a project including: budgets, schedules, work plans, technical specifications, tender documents, technical reports, project calculation, etc. • Working both independently to solve technical problems and in a team environment. • Reporting to Civil Lead and Project Manager. • Assigning, giving instructions and providing technical direction to technical support staff. • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationship with clients, contractors, suppliers, associates and team members. Qualifications • Recognized professional Engineer’s designation and/or eligibility for registration with APEGBC. • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university. • 5+ years experience in reinforced concrete, structural steel and timber structural design. • Familiarity with relevant design codes and standards. • Working experience of electrical utility. • A team player with strong communication and interpersonal skills • Solid organizational and time management skills • Experience with structural analysis/design and distribution design programs, such as S-Frame, S-Steel, PLS—POLE and Microsoft Office application.
