ABOUT CRAFTING LIVES: Crafting Lives is a therapy centre providing multiple services for children with special needs (CSN). We are a team of Child Development specialists; special educators, psychologist and occupational therapist, and they systematically put their expertise together for bringing a positive all round development of a CSN. We follow an individualistic approach wherein THE CHILD is at the core and services are provided according to their need. Crafting Lives caters to a multitude of special needs like children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention deficits, Hyperactivity, Intellectual Impairments, Learning Difficulties (Dyslexics, dysgraphics, attention related, difficulties due to sensory issues- SPD, language impairments or due to nature of disability like Down’s syndrome), and with social and emotional difficulties. It is an Individual and Group Therapy Centre aimed to cater to needs of children with special needs and their families in the areas of Delhi and NCR region. We have a team of Child Development specialists, psychologist, special educators and various consultants who can provide valuable insights on speech and hearing, Occupational Therapy and requisites for inclusion. For our therapy sessions to proceed smoothly, we are backed by staff for administration, account management, marketing and web development. Our Vision: We believe in empowering the child by providing a vibrant learning environment that inspires students towards independence and integration into society. We value the individuality and uniqueness of each child and strive for giving our best with passion and commitment. We strongly believe that every student can learn, though not in the same way. We believe that if given access to services, every child has a chance. We work with clear GOALS: We must see every child given therapy by us in an inclusive school, studying and enjoying with their regular counterparts. We strongly believe that for this to happen, both the special child and the society have to take steps towards each other. Normally everyone focuses on modelling socially appropriate behaviour for the child. No doubt, the child needs to develop socially, but that needs to be on a continuum; the efforts need to be both ways: the society taking steps towards the child and accepting the CSN as well as the child gaining appropriate behaviour so that he/ she can be a part of the society. In addition to inclusion, we focus on EARLY INTERVENTION. It is a system of services designed to support families with children ages birth to kindergarten who have, or are at risk for, disabilities. We also work in partnership with parents to help children develop their knowledge and skills to reach their potential. There are many positive outcomes for children and families who receive Early Intervention services. Starting services early improves a child’s ability to develop and learn. Early intervention can produce substantial gains in physical development, cognitive development, language and speech development and self-help skills. We strongly believe that the early one intervenes; it can substantially help prevent the development of secondary disabling conditions, reduces family stress and can reduce the need for special education services once the child reaches school age. Hence our team and consultants work closely with families to understand and build on children’s strengths and provide services that can support the child and family. We offer morning batches with this group and parent involvement is mandatory.
