SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT SCIENCES LUCKNOW –GREEN QUEST IN LUCKNOW

Rising temperature, melting glaciers, discoloring “Taj”, black “Ganga Mata”, prevalent cancer, floods, droughts, all these can be given to a summation of polluted environment, disturbed ecosystem. School of Management Sciences, Lucknow takes the responsibility of creating immense awareness among the students, who will be the future of India. For doing so, the college organized an inter-school quiz based on environment. The preliminary rounds of competition have already taken place at respective colleges/schools during months of November & December . The quiz competition witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than students from the schools of Lucknow and catchment areas. The final competition included a semi-final in the form of written test and a quiz as finals. The quiz was successfully conducted by Mr. Arnav Sinha – The Quiz Master from MNA (Delhi) who has a prestigious background of reputed institutes such as IIT Delhi and IIM Calcutta. Around 800 students of 80 schools participated in the grand quiz. The event was joined by around 100 representatives as well as principals of various schools &colleges. The event was organized in association with Times of India Group. The chief guest of the event was Mr Manoj Kumar Pandey, Minister of Science and Technology, Govt of Uttar Pradesh. The guest list included Dr. R. K. Khandal, Vice Chancellor, UPTU and Mr. Dhanush Veer Singh from the Times of India. The occasion was blessed by Mr. Sharad Singh, CEO - SMS, Lucknow, Prof. (Dr.) Manoj Mehrotra, Prof. (Dr.) B. R. Singh. The winner for the event was Diamond Public School, the first runners up was the team from Kendriya Vidyalaya Gomtinagar, whereas the third position was accoladed to Mary Gardners School. The event included a tree plantation drive which witnessed the planting of 80 saplings by the representatives and students, of participating schools,it was also accompanied by the inauguration of an in-house basket –ball court by the ace fast bawler Mr. R.P.Singh, the renowned Indian Cricketer from U.P. The event was deeply appreciated by principals and representatives of all the schools who attended this mega event.
