1996 INTERNATIONAL 3800 MECHANICAL DT 466 IN INDIA

Just out of service. 1996 International 3800 Midsize bus. 27' long 6'2 floor pan to ribs. Completely gutted and ready for you to build your perfect skoolie or food-truck or whatever. 250XXX Miles. Mechanics-  Engine-Fully mechanical DT 466.  Transmission- Allison 545. Just beefed up the transmission cooler and added a transmission temp gauge. Geared for southern California. Cruises comfortably at 66(68 if you push it- 70 or 73 downhill.) Brakes- Air Parking Brake, Hydraulic Service Brake.  This sweet bus came out of service from San Diego School District in April of 2021. I drove from San Diego to Salt Lake without a second of hesitation.  The steering is super tight. Tires are have great tread. I had an international mechanic go through it with a fine tooth comb. I had him change all the fluids and filters, we upgraded the transmission cooler and added a temp gauge to the transmission.   Other info- In the passenger area, I removed all the seats, pulled all the interior panels & insulation, pulled up the subfloor, sanded and coated the floor with corroseal. I left the driver area as is so you can take it as far as you want, we welded and reinforced the entry stairs. All of the wiring from the speakers and lights are still in place. All switches and wires are good so I left them in place in case you would like to use them. The speakers were blown so I pulled them out. All the heaters work and are in place- I like to keep them in case I ever need to pull heat out of the engine.
