JACOB THOMAS @LEADERSHIP LECTURE SERIES IN INDIA

Another golden chapter added in the history of SMS Lucknow when Dr. Jacob Thomas (retd.) IAS visited SMS, Lucknow in the leadership Lecture Series. He was Chanakya (IAS) at level of Additional Chief Secretary, U.P. He held various posts in his tenure like: a)Principal Secretary to Govt. of U.P., Lucknow b)Chairman, Cochin Port Trust, Cochin c)Chief Project Officer, Petronet, LNG, Cochin d)Project Coordinator, Central Silk Board, Bangalore e)Collector and District Magistrate, Etah, U.P. Instead of making it a teaching class, he made it as interactive orientation session. He explained various concerns which students should feel learn like: 1.Concern for results 2.Concern for time 3.Learning not only for passing exams, but for problem solving 4.Identify with the organization 5.People matter most 6.Proper balance of internal and external orientation 7.Concern for resources 8.Group functioning 9.Develop systems 10.Deal with failures He also emphasized on management of self with a highlight of formula A = C × M (Achievement, capability, motivation). The session can be called as a burst of knowledge, wisdom, and experience packed carefully for students.
