THEME – India 2040 The exhibition will be based on the futuristic theme, India in the year 2040. You are encouraged to visualise a futuristic representation of our sentiments, hopes, culture, customs, cuisine, language, art, academics, society, values, or setting. India and her sky is the limit Based on the criteria of the ‘India 2040’ theme, artworks will be selected, showcasing the best of as many different genres and varied media as possible. Entering: The National Art Competition – 2018 for children is open for entries from 1 November 2018. Last date for Online submission is 30th November 2018 and Offline Submission is 3rd December 2018. Entry FEE is Rs. 150 per entry. A child may enter up to three artworks. Schools and institutes have a ‘10 children’ entry offer for FREE – please email Admin (admin@theartacademy.in) for details. Judging will take place by the 8th of December where our Children’s Judge will select the winning works. Entrants will be notified by email of the results, and the winners and finalist’s works will be displayed from the 12th December 2018 to 3rd January 2019. The Art Academy shall conduct an art exhibition and musical recital to showcase the talent. All finalists and their families shall be invited.

Theoretical and historical essays by Omi Osun Joni L. Jones describe and define the African American tradition of art-making known as the jazz aesthetic, and explain how her own work in this tradition inspired her to start tAP. Key artists in the tradition, from Bessie Award–winning choreographer Laurie Carlos and writer/performer Robbie McCauley to playwrights Daniel Alexander Jones and Carl Hancock Rux, worked with the women of tAP as mentors and teachers.
