O T TECHNICIAN (OPERATION THEATER) IN INDIA

Primary function is to promote the well being of patient throughout the entire anaesthetic phase. Should be able to demonstrate clinical responsibility of anesthetic related interventions through the induction, maintenance and reversal of anaesthesia. To maintain in an effective condition anaesthetic, inhalation, resuscitation equipment / machine as per protocol. All anaesthetic and operating equipment / machines must be checked prior to the commencement of any surgical procedure Basic safety checks to be carried out which includes oxygen cylinder, Nitrous oxide cylinder, anaesthetic breathing circuits (Bains & Magill) attached to the machine are complete and in safe working order. Reservoir bags are not perished and free from leaks. The suction is clean and functioning adequately and safely. The volatile agent vaporizers are correctly fitted and working correctly. The medical gas pipelines are connected properly. There are varieties of endotracheal suction catheters available. All the required drugs are to be stocked. Intubations equipment should be checked. Make sure Laryngoscope Long blade & short blade is available. To check all anaesthesia trolly / Crash cart & update, check for expiry weekly once.
